Stuart Russell is a British computer scientist known for his contributions to artificial intelligence. He warns about the risks involved in the creation of AI systems.

Artificial intelligence has become a key behind-the-scenes component of many aspects of our day-to-day lives.

The promise of AI has lured many into attempting to harness it for societal benefit, but there are also concerns about its potential misuse.

Dr. Stuart Russell is one of AI’s true pioneers and has been at the forefront of the field for decades. He proposes a novel solution which bring us to a better understanding of what it will take to create beneficial machine intelligence.

In view of the recent warnings from researchers and entrepreneurs that artificial intelligence or AI may become too smart, major players in the technology field are thinking about different methods for mitigating these concerns and preserving human control.

Stuart Russell, argues that if AI surpasses humanity in general intelligence and becomes Superintelligent, then this new Superintelligence could become powerful and difficult to control.

Existing weak AI systems can be monitored and easily shut down and modified if they misbehave. However, a misprogrammed Superintelligence, which by definition is smarter than humans in solving practical problems it encounters in the course of pursuing its goals, would realize that allowing itself to be shut down and modified might interfere with its ability to accomplish its current goals. If the Superintelligence therefore decides to resist shutdown and modification, it would be smart enough to outwit its human operators and other efforts to shut it down.

For those who don’t know chatGPT, it’s an Artificial Intelligence tool launched by OpenAI. You can use it for free to ask all sorts of questions and it will use the knowledge of the whole internet to create an answer for you in its own words. It’s impressive. It’s magical.

So why don’t we use it to learn English? Let’s do just that. Think of it like a free personal English tutor who can guide you, correct you. Anytime. Anyday. Whenever you want it, it’s there. For free.

Here are 10 ways you can use chatGPT for learning English:

1. Conversations

Example prompt: "Create a casual conversation between two friends in English"

ChatGPT will create a conversation for you and then you can then recite it and practise

2. Quizzes

Example prompt: "Create an English grammar quiz for me"

3. Correct mistakes

Example prompt: "Check the following text for English grammar mistakes. “I have went to the marketl”"

4. Beautify/simplify the text

Example prompt: "Please beautify this English paragraph: “Ram went to the market. He bought a few fruits. He likes to eat mangoes.”"

Example prompt: "What is active vs passive voice in the English language? Please illustrate with examples."

Example prompt: "Teach me a few grammar rules of English"

Caution: ChatGPT is pretty smart but it's still new and a work in progress. So it could still make errors. Use it like a helpful tool/assistant, not as an authority figure or a master.

ဥပမာ စက်ရုပ်တစ်ရုပ်ကို တိရစ္ဆာန် ပုံ တစ်ပုံပြပြီး ဒီ ပုံဟာ ဘာ တိရစ္ဆာန်လဲဆိုတာ ခွဲခြားနိုင်စွမ်းရှိအောင် လုပ်ပေးတာပဲ ဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
စက်ရုပ်က အခုလို လူတွေ အကူအညီမပါဘဲ ဘာတိရစ္ဆာန်လဲ ခွဲခြားနိုင်အောင် လုပ်ဖို့ အတွက်ဆိုရင် အရင်ဆုံး စက်ရုပ်ကို မတူကွဲပြားတဲ့ မြောက်မြားစွာသော တိရစ္ဆာန်ပုံတွေကိုပြပြီး ကြိမ်ဖန်များစွာ သင်ယူခိုင်းရပါတယ်။ အဲ့ဒါကို သင်ယူလေ့လာခြင်း(Learning) ဆိုပြီး ခေါ်ပါတယ်။ အဲ့အဆင့် ပြီးမှသာ စက်ရုပ်က ခွဲခြားနိုင်မှာဖြစ်ပါတယ်။
အဲ့ဒီ သင်ယူခြင်း Learning သီအိုရီကို အခြေခံပြီး AI ကို နယ်ပယ်အမျိုးမျိုးမှာ ကျယ်ကျယ်ပြန့်ပြန့် အသုံးပြုနေကြပါတယ်။ အဲ့ထဲက တချို့ကတော့ မောင်းသူမဲ့ ကားများ(ဥပမာ Tesla)၊ Iphone မှာ ပါတဲ့ Siri ၊ ဘာသာပြန် ဆော့ဖ်ဝဲများ(ဥပမာ Google translate)၊ ဆေးပညာမှာဆိုရင်လည်း ကင်ဆာဆဲလ် ရှိမရှိ၊ စတော့ရှယ်ယာ ဈေးကွက် ခန့်မှန်းခြင်းများ စတဲ့ ကျွန်တော်တို့ နေ့စဉ်ဘဝမှာ အသုံးပြုနေကြတဲ့ နည်းပညာတွေပဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်။

While AI Professor Jürgen Schmidhuber predicts artificial intelligence will be able to control robotic factories in space, the Swedish-American physicist Max Tegmark warns against a totalitarian AI surveillance state, and the philosopher Thomas Metzinger predicts a deadly AI arms race. But Metzinger also believes that Europe in particular can play a pioneering role on the threshold of this new era: creating a binding international code of ethics.
