Hátsó Szándék was a Hungarian punk band between 1997-2004 and propably one of the most approved and influential ones in the scene.

The members came from both Pavlov Kutyái and Pincebogarak, later some initial changes (Péter Pacsay guitarist and Ádám Várkonyi lead singer leaving, while a new lead singer joining the band - all in 1998) shaped the final lineup: Márton Andor (bass), Gábor Kobera (guitar), Tamás Kuttner (drums), Gergely Nagy (vocals).

Two songs about skinheads (to be expressed later) earned the band a huge fanbase in the flourishing streetpunk community, while their unique, hardcore based music and a then unmatched quality of their lyrics turned the opinion leaders of the hardcore scene on their side too.
After helping in the creation of a Budapest-based melodic hardcore scene, they broke up due to musical differences. They agreed to do a final show, which became sort of a legendary event. There was a plan of making a live DVD, but the video recordings of the show have gone missing and are yet to be found.

Their music is a bit mixed up, including early hardcore and 80s melodic punk basics with high pitched vocals while having the bass lead the melody (a retraceable habit of Hungarian punk bands). Later on time guitar themes evolved and took the lead role, while the music slowed down and let more place to melodies, resulting in a more emotional and atmospheric sound. It was a totally unique sound, a single and short approach on post-hardcore from the viewpoint of Hungarian punk traditions.

Ekkor a felállás Andor Márton -- basszus, Kuttner Tamás -- dob, Kobera Gábor és Pacsay Péter -- gitár, Várkonyi Ádám -- ének. volt. 1998-ban sok tagcserén mentek át, végül 1999-re kilépett Várkonyi Ádám és Pacsay Péter is, azonban belépett Nagy Gergely a mikrofon mögé, így ismét teljes volt a felállás, igaz, már csak egy gitárral. 1999 februárjában vették fel első demójukat Nincs üzenet címmel, ezen a kazettán még nem teljesen kiforrott a zenekar. Ennek ellenére ezen hallható legismertebb számuk, az Együtt az utcán, ami a punk-skin összetartás kérdését feszegeti. Következő albumuk az Álmatlanság (2000) már sokkal inkább elment a lelki vonal felé, eltávoldotak a társadalomkritkától, az ezen hallható szövegek mág megállják a helyüket versekként is. Ezen az albumon még van egy utalás a skinheadekre, de inkább a skinek szétszakadását, mint a punk-skin kérdést jeleníti meg a Skinhead Reggae című számuk. Következett az Öt percünk maradt (2002), amiről bátran állítható, hogy a zenekar kiteljesedése. Zárószáma, a Fiatalon nincsen szép halál, akár a zenekarról is szólhatna. Ugyanis ez az utolsó albumuk, 2004 januárjában búcsúkoncerttel köszöntek el rajongóiktól (aminek egyébként az előbb említett szám volt a zárószáma) és letették a hangszereket. A csúcson tudták befejezni, elmondták, amit akartak, nem akarták magukat ismételni.

A Hátsó Szándék önmagát punk zenekarnak vallotta, azon belül semmilyen vonalhoz nem csatlakoztak. Többen kiáltották ki őket Oi zenekarnak, az Együtt az utcán és a Skinhead Reggae miatt, azonban szerintük ők nem Oi zenekar, mindössze szimpatizálnak a S.H.A.R.P. mozgalommal. Street-punknak is nevezték őket, de oda sem sorolhatók, ahhoz túlságosan igényes és a szövegviláguk sem éppen a street vonalba tartozik, habár egyértelműen szimpatizálnak a streetpunkkal is.

Jelenleg nem sok hír van róluk. Amit elkezdtek, azt nem sokan vitték tovább. A kezdő bandák közül néhányan próbálják követni őket, közülük talán lesz valaki, aki a nyomukba ér. Bár ahhoz dunaharaszti suttyónak kell születni. Kobera Gábor 2009-ig a Something Against You nevű zenekarban játszott, ma a Ninpulators tagja. Kuttner Tamás a Bridge to Solace tagságát erősítette, de nemrég barátságosan szétváltak útjaik. Andor Márton a már feloszlott Red Line Offside-ban játszott, azóta pedig a Pay My Milk! nevű zenekarban zenél.

Hátsó Szándék was a Hungarian punk band between 1997-2004 and propably one of the most approved and influential ones in the scene.

The members came from both Pavlov Kutyái and Pincebogarak, later some initial changes (Péter Pacsay guitarist and Ádám Várkonyi lead singer leaving, while a new lead singer joining the band - all in 1998) shaped the final lineup: Márton Andor (bass), Gábor Kobera (guitar), Tamás Kuttner (drums), Gergely Nagy (vocals).

Two songs about skinheads (to be expressed later) earned the band a huge fanbase in the flourishing streetpunk community, while their unique, hardcore based music and a then unmatched quality of their lyrics turned the opinion leaders of the hardcore scene on their side too.
After helping in the creation of a Budapest-based melodic hardcore scene, they broke up due to musical differences. They agreed to do a final show, which became sort of a legendary event. There was a plan of making a live DVD, but the video recordings of the show have gone missing and are yet to be found.

Their music is a bit mixed up, including early hardcore and 80s melodic punk basics with high pitched vocals while having the bass lead the melody (a retraceable habit of Hungarian punk bands). Later on time guitar themes evolved and took the lead role, while the music slowed down and let more place to melodies, resulting in a more emotional and atmospheric sound. It was a totally unique sound, a single and short approach on post-hardcore from the viewpoint of Hungarian punk traditions.
