Netflix Kitchen: Playtest Cupcakes<br /><br />This delicious augmented reality gopher comes courtesy of our friends at Zappar https://www.facebook.com/ZapparApp/ <br /><br />Food Stylist: Ashley Holt<br /><br />Chocolate Black Mirror Cupcakes Recipe:<br /><br />Cupcake:<br />1/2 cup coconut oil - melted<br />2 cups light brown sugar<br />2 eggs<br />2 teaspoons vanilla extract<br />1 3/4 cup AP flour<br />1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder<br />1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda<br />1 teaspoon salt<br />1 cup milk<br />1 cup hot water (or hot coffee)<br /><br />Buttercream:<br />12 ounces butter, unsalted - room temperature <br />4 cups powdered sugar<br />1 teaspoon salt<br />2 tablespoon vanilla<br />1/4 cup milk<br /><br />Whipped cream (store bought is fine!)<br />Gum paste<br />Edible image paper<br /><br />Preheat oven to 350. Prepare a cupcake pan with liners. <br /><br />In large bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients to combine and break up any lumps. Add remaining ingredients and mix until smooth and combined. <br /><br />Portion in prepared cupcake pan and bake 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean or the cupcake springs back when lightly touched. <br /><br />Let cool completely and fill cupcakes with whipped cream.<br /><br />To make the buttercream :<br />Put soft butter and salt in the bowl of a stand mixer (hand mixer is good too!) and whip until light and fluffy. Add the powdered sugar, vanilla and milk and mix on medium speed for 5 minutes. <br /><br />To make the cupcake toppers:<br />Using edible ink and edible image paper, print off desired image. Cut out and place on a thin piece of gum paste that's the same size. Let harden for at least an hour so it holds its shape. <br /><br />Top the cupcakes with vanilla buttercream, sprinkles, gumpaste topper and eat.
