What a way to start the new year! We’ve got the all-new BMW i4 M50 going head-to-head with one of the best performance EVs around - the Tesla Model 3 Performance!

So let’s take a look at their stats. Starting with the BMW, it’s powered by dual electric motors that put down 544hp and 795Nm of torque. It’s pretty heavy though, tipping the scales at 2,215kg.

Now the Tesla may also have dual electric motors, but it’s quite down on power compared to the i4, producing 490hp & 660Nm! It’s got one big advantage though… It’s over 350kg lighter than the BMW!

The UNBEATABLE New 2023 BMW X4! The Best Sportback SUV?...

If you’re a fan of the BMW X3 but find its boxy body a little too boring, its more modern sibling, the all new 2023 BMW X4, wears an eye-catching fastback design that appeals to sophistication. The X3, and other quarterback SUVs for that matter, offer more practicality, but the new BMW X4 is more about style. But do the features of the X4 make it worth buying? Keep watching this video to find out why buyers are loving the fastback design.

Do you happen to be looking for a sporty luxury compact crossover that's also stylish? BMW has a niche car for you: the 2023 BMW X4. The X4 is a slightly longer, wider, lower and a more interesting version of the X3. It trades away a bit of back headroom with cargo space in exchange for its fastback profile. The BMW X3 is no doubt much more practical, but the X4 does all things right in this regard, and it manages to be both comfortable and engaging to drive, too.

The base 2023 BMW X4 xDrive30i gets its speed from a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that generates 248 horsepower with 258 lb-ft of torque. At its test track, this BMW model got to 60 mph in just 6.2 seconds. So, if you're in the market for something more high-octane, the X4 M40i is a great fit.

Also, this model is equipped with a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder which makes a beefy 382 horsepower and 365 lb-ft of torque. According to its track tests, BMW's X4 M40i goes to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds, and its engine note is as impressive as its acceleration.

Its launch control is standard. Both trims have an eight-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. Regardless of which X4 you choose, you'll be treated to an SUV that matches sharp handling with a ride quality that's easy to live with.

The X4's brakes react quickly and are smooth and easy to use in regular driving, but the handling is its biggest strength. With its standard M Sport suspension, a regular suspension is a no-cost option; the X4 test car felt solid and composed through quick corners and curves. The steering loads up well in Sport mode during curves. It's well-weighted but still sharp and accurate, inspiring confidence when breezing through twistier road sections.

The X4 xDrive30i is equipped with a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder producing 248 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque. That engine is joined to an eight-speed automatic transmission and AWD. Acceleration from 0 to 60 mph should take about 6.0 seconds.

Performance increases in the X4 M40i, which has a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder assisted by a mild hybrid system. The output totals 382 hp and 369 lb-ft, all sent through an eight-speed automatic and AWD. Launching to 60 mph should only take about 4.4 seconds. Fuel economy is estimated at 21/26 mpg in the 2022 model.

If the X4 M40i isn’t fast enough for you, then check out the X4M. It packs a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder that cranks out 473 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. The Competition package adds even more performance.

The power for the X4M Competition is rated at 503 hp and 479 lb-ft, cuts the 0-60-mph sprint to below 4.0 seconds. In addition to more aggressive styling, the X4M has upgraded brakes and suspension hardware, making it an overall sportier SUV than any other X4 model.

In terms of the all new 2023 X4’s look, you'll love it, or you'll hate it. We appreciate the 2023 BMW X4's tapered roofline and its brash angularity, which doesn't quite jibe with its otherwise comfortable interior—unless you grab one of the bright upholstery hues BMW offers.

The X4 looks like the X3 from the front, with the same updates last year that gave it a more muscular front end and new 19-inch-or-larger wheel options.

The roofline arches upward from the windshield before diving toward an integrated rear spoiler. It's fun, playful, and engaging, especially since BMW gave the roof itself more angles than the flat surface you'd see otherwise.

It's more ordinary inside, especially black, tan, or gray. BMW uses some intriguing angles to group controls together, but this interior cries out for the available brown, cognac, or dark red upholstery to match its exterior.

You'll want to call it "shotgun" if you're not the lucky one driving your 2023 BMW X4. This crossover SUV has a nicely appointed cabin with terrific front seats and decent cargo room, but rear-seat riders will find limited headroom. Clean modernity is the game's name within the X4's premium cabin.

A performance model with unmistakable M character is taking its place at the top of the new BMW X1 range. The new BMW X1 M35i xDrive builds on the spontaneous driving pleasure that lies at the heart of the compact Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV) concept with an injection of the dynamism, agility and precision for which M models are renowned. Its four-cylinder unit is part of the new modular generation of BMW Group Efficient Dynamics engines and uses M TwinPower Turbo technology to record maximum output of 221 kW/300 hp in Europe and an even higher figure of 233 kW/317 hp in the USA and other selected markets.

The new BMW X1 M35i xDrive races to 100 km/h (62 mph) from rest in 5.4 seconds, while top speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). M-specific chassis technology – including the option of M Compound brakes for the first time on a performance model – teams up with BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive to deliver sublime performance characteristics.
