2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 review // The ultimate status vehicle?
This is a Motormouth couple car review of the 2023 Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 G-Wagon luxury SUV.
This Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 has a handcrafted 4L twin-turbo V8 with a 9-speed automatic transmission, 577 horsepower and 627 lb-ft of torque. It goes 0-60 in 4.5 seconds.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 is hand built and signed by its own craftsman. It gives you instant acceleration at any speed and its massive torque reaches its 627 lb-ft peak at 1300 rpm and holds it all the way to 4000 rpm. Standard AWD with a 2-speed transfer case, 4-wheel drive and three lockable differentials to help tackle different terrains and conditions.
Each differential can be locked in sequence, centre, rear, then front via a set of buttons on the dash to help maintain the ideal balance of torque and traction for the situation you are in.
This Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 model has an AMG performance exhaust system, a high-performance braking system and an adaptive damping suspension.
The Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 has a rugged, boxy design with AMG styling that is just so cool looking. It comes standard with 21” wheels, available 22” wheels, an AMG grille, classic round headlamps with active LED technology, stainless steel running boards, power folding side mirrors, heat and noise insulating glass and the option of chrome, gloss or matte black exterior accents and an available black roof.
The cabin of the Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63 is modern and clean with dual 12.3” screens, Nappa leather interior, available Nappa leather with diamond stitching, there’s different trim pieces including natural woods, 64-colour ambient lighting, a sunroof with heat rejecting glass, the door handles feel bank vault precise, the cabin is comfortable, spacious and there’s plenty of storage.

While it might look cool, don’t expect great fuel economy, it gets 19.5L/100 km, 13 MPG city and 15.5L/100 km, 16 MPG highway. It can tow 7,000 pounds.
