0:00 - Intro
-
BAD:
0:57 - Expensive
The GLC now starts at 47,100 for RWD, but all you’re going to find around here is 4MATIC cars and those start at 49,100
That makes it about 5 grand more than where the Audi Q5 starts
But only about 1,000 more than the fairly fresh BMW X3
1:31 - Miscellaneous Nitpicks
Even if you get open pore wood for your dash inlay you get this massive slab of gloss black which is going to look terrible almost immediately - the good news is you’ll probably leave this open which minimizes it
Your rear seats are great and we’ll talk about them more, but they’re missing charging ports…I mean, what?
Personally, I’d probably order my GLC this way with the Night Package, but White is the only standard paint color - everything else you gotta pay for

GOOD:
2:17 - Advanced tech
In fact the whole interior is heavily updated and we’ll talk more about design later
But here now you get an updated MBUX system which includes
Wireless ACP and AA
A new, more vertical style touchscreen we’ve seen now in the C and S
Biometric driver profiles with up to 7 slots
inCREDIBLE 360 cameras with the AR style view
And the 360 cameras function as security camera to record incidents
AR navigation which we’ve talked about before
That’s tied into the screens and HUD
Here you can also get digital headlights which will read road signs and project them onto the road so you can see more clearly
You’ve got telemetry and offroad status screens
You’ve got pressure sensitive seat adjusters
OR you can enter your height and let the car take care of it for you
Something we originally saw in the new SL
You’ve got a wireless charger
And a touch slider for your optional pano roof
3:24 - The drive
It’s still a 2.0T 4 cylinder mated the the MB 9 speed transmission going to either the rear, or all wheels with 4MATIC
BUT
For 2023 now you’ve got a 48V mild hybrid system and now power comes in at 255 hp and 295 lbft
Which means it’s a little faster too - 0-60 in the low 6 sec range
4:37 - Interior space
The rear seats are the most noticeable to benefit form the added 2 inches for 2023
They’re big and comfy and feel palatial with the pano roof
You get rear air vents and an optional climate zone back here too
But you don;t get charges -weird
But the trunk is also bigger this year
The seats still fold 40/20/40 and you get grocery hangers
And I believe it’s bigger than the Q5 and X3
There’s also a way to adjust the rear suspension height to make it easier to load heavy objects
5:20 - Fuel economy
This new GLC is now rated at 26 mpg combined, which is up 2 mpg from last year
And importantly is 2 more more than the X3 and 1 more than the Q5
5:46 - Luxuries
Heated and cooled seats
Heated steering wheel
Heated rear seats*
Seat kinetics
Pano roof option
slider operated
even opens
6:13 - Towing
All GLCs can tow up to 3500 lbs
6:26 - Cabin Design
It all comes together to make you feel like your money went further than in the other brands
8 - Looks
Fors starters your new grille is a little more rounded off, but aso now includes mini MB star elements - which is a nice little touch
You’re got updated LED headlights -std
And you CAN get that digital light system we talked about earlier
Your lower fascia also get a little update
And around the side you have a myriad of new wheel options
The profile at large does look pretty familiar, but again you’re got that extra 2 inchs of length
Chrome treatments are standard unless you go for the night package
And then your rear end gets a set of updates too
With revised taillights and that chrome bar in between
