New 2024 Nissan Pathfinder - Redesigned Midsize 3-row Family SUV
It's been years since Nissan unveiled the fifth-generation Pathfinder in the US for 2022, but the three-row SUV has yet to make its way to China. At the ongoing Shanghai Motor Show, the eponymous concept previews its latest model, but with a twist considering it's not a copy of the North American variant.The family van is said to have been redesigned to Chinese tastes. The automaker didn't provide any details about the underpinnings of the new Pathfinder concept, which could ride either the Nissan X-Trail's CMF-CD unibody architecture or the U.S. Pathfinder's older D platform.
This model appears to have a roomier footprint with similar proportions to the Nissan X-Trail, but cleaner finishes and modern styling touches lend to a more premium stance. A large V-Motion grille integrates LEDs in the front. The side windows connect to the rear window, with glossy black accents contrasting with the gold outer screen. Aft, the full-width taillights feature his Pixel LED graphics, and the large tailgate has an illuminated Pathfinder script.
Inside, seven seats are arranged in a three-row layout. The trim combines gold accents and black and white leather upholstery around the cabin. The dashboard integrates a digital cockpit with two screens mounted in one panel and a heads-up display. Other details include touch-sensitive controls on the steering wheel, a raised center console and separate climate controls for the rear passengers.
Nissan did not mention what powers the Pathfinder,only the concept is showcased at Auto Shanghai alongside the latest Qashqai. The smaller crossover is celebrating its Chinese premiere ahead of an August market launch.
