This mix evokes classical foundation Jamaican music of the late 1950s to 1960s.
During the first hour of the show, periodically you will see popular Jamaican artifacts and personalities of the 70s and 80s. You will also see scenes of Jamaican dancing to ska music. Ska was originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s, Ska came before musical styles such as Rocksteady and Reggae. Ska is a combined musical element of Caribbean Mento and Calypso with a bit of American Jazz and also Rhythm and Blues.
